The superbike segment is getting really interesting as MV Agusta brought out its F4RR model today, under the EICMA spotlights. The new customer version is now 8 percent lighter and 5 percent more powerful than the current version. At the show hosted in Milan we got to look at all the racing tech the Italians decided to infuse into this bike.
What you should know from the get go is that they obviously wanted to show you that racing spec features can be included on this model. For example, you’ll immediately see this focus on performance when you realize that the F4RR is equipped with racing ABS.

Basically, the bike is ready for racing in stock form. Of course, in Agusta fashion, you can also get some optionals for your own personalized needs but you’ll have to add a hefty sum to the price tag.

The racing character can be seen throughout the layout

Other hints that the F4RR is aiming to transform you into a proper racer are the commands included in the instrument cluster area. You can also see in our photos that there’s a an electronic system that allows you to adjust your suspension setting on the go. You also get electronic steering damping from Ohlins and a Termignoni exhaust.

Brembo goes without saying at this point, with the master brake cylinder up front while round the back you get Nissin brakes. What’s most interesting is that the chassis is claimed to be manually welded for this bike, something you don’t get to see too often these days.

Hardcore F4RR also on display

Apart from the F4RR destined for normal customers, MV Agusta also brought out a hardcore version dressed in red. You can tell that this baby means business and that it’s not really intended to be used on public roads by the fact that it has no rearview mirrors, no turn signal lights and no license plate holder. To top it all off, the exhaust sits under the saddle for better cooling.

This hardcore, racing version comes with quick-release fairing that allows you to swap it in case you hit something and you don’t want your aerodynamics to get ruined.

What about the tech specs and pricing?

MV Agusta has been working around the clock to improve the performance and specs of the 2015 model year F4RR. The bike arrives with a new cylinder head, new crankshaft and camshafts.

The pistons have also been revised and are now lighter, while corresponding titanium connecting rods have been also used. Therefore, the power is now rated at 210 HP even though the bike only weighs 175 kg (386 lbs).

Production will be limited and you should know that the starting price for this bike is €40,000, without any optional package.
