The pre-production prototype of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLK we showed you last week was caught by our relentless spy photographers once again.
Internally codenamed X205, the second generation of the GLK is once again to be based on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, only this time it will obviously share components with the W205.
By sharing components we mean that every engine in the fourth generation of the C-Class apart from the two entry level 1.6-liter four bangers will be present under the hood of various versions of the GLK as well.
In other words, the second generation of the GLK will exclusively receive turbocharged engines, be them two-liter diesel/gasoline inline fours or three-liter gasoline/diesel V6s. Squeeze a gasoline hybrid in there for good measure and we have a seven-engine lineup in Europe and at least four in the United States.
Speaking of the land of the free, since the W205 generation of the C-Class is to be built in Tuscaloosa - besides Bremen - we might see the GLK X205 manufactured there as well, although nothing is confirmed as of yet.
