After earlier on today we got our hands on some leaked technical sheets for the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205, now it's time to pit it against the outgoing model.
Since the only leaked specs were for the C 180, C 200 and the C 220 BlueTec, we decided to compare it with the same versions of the C-Class W204 and arrived at some pretty interesting conclusions.

Keep in mind that we're only comparing the differences between the two, since there are quite a lot of similar specifications between identical-engined models. With that in mind, here's our very own 2015 C 180 W205 vs 2014 C 180 W204 specs battle for all the fanboys out there, with the C 200 and C 220 diesel to get their own comparisons later on:

  • The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration is 8.2 seconds in the C180 W205 versus 8.5 seconds in the C 180 W204 for the six-speed manual, with the 7G-Tronic giving the same 8.5 seconds for both models.
  • The C 180 W205 needs a minimum of 5 liters per 100 km of fuel (47 mpg) combined, with the C 180 W204 using at least 5.8 liters per 100 km (41 mpg) for the six-speed manual. Equipped with the 7G-Tronic Plus, the C 180 W205 uses 5.4 liters per 100 km (44 mpg), while the C 180 W204 uses 5.8 liters per 100 km (41 mpg) combined.
  • The C 180 W205 weighs just 1395 kg (3075 pounds), with the fatty C 180 W204 coming in at 1470 kg (3241 pounds).
  • The C 180 W205 comes with 205/60 R 16 wheels, while the C 180 W204 uses 195/60 R16.
  • The C 180 W205 has 480 liters (17 cu ft) of luggage space, while the C 180 W204 has “only” 475 liters (16.8 cu ft).
  • Turning circle is 11.22 meters (36.8 feet) for the C 180 W205, while the smaller C 180 W204 needs only 10.84 meters (35.6 feet).
  • The C 180 W205 has a... wait for it... 41 liter fuel tank with 7 liters reserve, compared with the C 180 W204, which has a 59 liter one with 8 liters reserve.
