This summer brings with it a new era, coming from the East. You see, while GM has been stuck making bad cars during the recession, Toyota went back to its white goods business, to putting bland refrigerators on wheels. The 2015 Lexus NX changes all that. It changes everything!
For years, true Japanese car fans have been telling us how nothing truly original is coming out any more, that they’re too afraid to take a risk because Americans are tricky customers. The NX presents itself not as a risk/gamble, but as a confident foot forward. With cleverly sculpted lines and the right choice of engines, it’s Lexus telling the world: “Look, this is what you really want!”

The design is definitely what sells this car. If the Guardians of the Galaxy ever needed a ride on Earth, they would jump straight into the NX 200t F Sport. Unfortunately, the launch event took us though the back roads surrounding Nashville and our photographer couldn’t come along for the ride. But even though they might not be what our fans have been accustomed to, the photos Lexus provided us with will exemplify that “space ship” look we’re talking about.

The F Sport is a CUV for the new age. It’s bright, bold and packs the a brand new 2-liter engine with a twin-scroll turbo. A hybrid is also available, and what it lacks in power, it makes up for with the characteristics that made Lexus the company it is today: a hush-hush cabin and advanced hybrid tech.

As for fuel economy, we’ll definitely get to that in our 2015 Lexus NX review. The hybrid might have a little bit of a surprise for you.
