The Cee-apostrophe-D is Kia’s answer to the compact-sized hatchback. Introduced in 2012, the second-generation of the cheap and cheerful five-door compact hatchback received a well-deserved facelift. For 2015, the Kia Cee’d facelift boasts redesigned aesthetic details, an all-new 1.0 ecoTurbo three-cylinder engine, and a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission.
Following in the footsteps of the 2015 Hyundai i30 facelift, the 2015 Kia Cee’d facelift receives sleeker visuals. Before all, we must mention that the modernized tiger-nose front grille, posher fog lights, and more muscular front bumper design make it for us. The headlights are slightly updated as well. At the rear, the taillights receive LEDs for added visual drama. Overall, we dig the new looks.

While the basic layout of the interior remains the same, look harder and you’ll see a couple of subtle enhancements. An all-new cabin color combo, a little chrome around the instrument binnacle, anti-scratch black plastic (finally!), chrome-accented HVAC dials, as well as just a bit more soundproofing material.

All engines are Euro 6-compliant, but the highlight is the all-new 1.0 ecoTurbo three-cylinder turbo engine. Developed in-house in Korea and featuring an integrated exhaust manifold, this three-banger is available in two forms: 100 PS (98 bhp) and 172 Nm (127 lb-ft), while the second variant produces 120 PS (118 bhp) and similar torque from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. In terms of diesel power, the 1.6 CRDi motor has been enhanced to churn out 136 PS (134 bhp) and 285 Nm (210 lb-ft) of torque.

Slated to hit European dealerships next month, the 2015 Kia Cee’d facelift is available with an all-new 7-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. At the present moment, this gearbox is only available with the 1.6-liter CRDi turbo diesel engine. The 128 PS 1.6-liter GDI petrol engine is still mated to a tried-and-true six-speed double-clutch automatic gearbox.
