Kawasaki celebrates three decades of Ninja machinery this year with two exclusive anniversary models. We showed you the limited-edition ZX-10R Ninja yesterday, and today it’s time for its smaller brother, the ZX-6R to shine in the spotlight.
Just like the superbike version of the Ninja, the ZX-6R 30th Anniversary comes with a special livery, inspired by the bike of Kawasaki’s WSBK champion Tom Sykes, and proudly displaying anniversatry badges on the side panels.

On the tech side, the 30th Anniversary Ninja is pretty much stock, powered by the same 636cc 4 in-line, dual fuel injection engine mated to the 6-speed transmission. The front end is the classic 41mm inverted Showa SFF-BP fork with top-out springs, stepless compression and rebound damping, and adjustable spring preload. The rear is loaded with a Bottom-link Uni-Trak with gas-charged shock, stepless compression damping adjustment, with 25-way adjustable rebound damping and fully adjustable spring preload.

The front brakes employ dual 310mm petal rotors, while the rear one has a similar, 220mm disc. Brakes are standard in the base version, with the KIBS ABS being offered as an option, for some $1,000 (€717) more. The 2015 anniversary bikes are offered for the same price as the 2014 model year units, with the non-ABS Ninja ZX-6R available for $11,999 (€8,610) in new Lime Green / Pearl Stardust White graphics.

It looks like the 30th Anniversary livery is the official livery for the 2015 MY ZX machines, as no other bikes in this family have (so far) been announced.
