2015 Jeep Patriot Buyer Claims Jeep CEO Replaced His Car after Email Complaint

We all know the Jeep Patriot is the kind of car that has generated mixed feelings among owners. However, a man who recently purchased one found this out on his own. Being dissatisfied with his new car, the guy decided to send an email to the company, with his action having unimagined results.

The guy took his story to Reddit, claiming he wrote to Jeep about the disappointment and he was answered by the company CEO. The man says Mark Manley instructed the unhappy customer to call the executive’s assistant.

When the Patriot owner followed suit, Jeep allegedly offered to “upgrade to a nice vehicle” (we’re expecting a Renegade, but he doesn’t mention this). Moreover, the carmaker offered to over the cost of trading the Patriot back to the dealer.

Here is the text of the email the man claims he sent to Jeep:

“I am not sure I am contacting the correct people, but I am emailing you with low expectations. You see, my wife and I lived in Oregon and purchased a new 2015 Jeep Patriot 4x4 Altitude Edition a few weeks ago. We needed an SUV for the room since we had our first child. We were so excited to own a new Jeep! I wish that it would have lived up to the hype. We are totally disappointed.“

“The fuel mileage is nowhere near the estimated mileage, the motor/transmission combination is lacking power, the interior just seems cheaper the more we use it, as well as not nearly as durable as the jeeps we have been accustomed to. We aren't mad or upset, just disappointed. It is unfortunate. I don't know what I hope to accomplish with this email, but I know as a small business owner that customer feedback is a key to success.”

While the Patriot pictured above is not the man’s actual car, the buyer claims the screenshot below shows the email he received from the CEO’s assistant as a response.

We’ve reached out to Jeep for confirmation, and we’ll be back on this superb-sounding story as soon as we have more details.
