Unlike most new introductions, the 2015 Ford Mustang managed to stay under wraps for a very long time. Keeping such an important vehicle like the sixth-gen Mustang is not an easy task, but it looks like Ford appointed an entire team of camouflage specialists to do it.
And that’s because camouflaging a car is not as easy as it sounds. Ford says the camouflage package must be approved by the design team once developed, and that special paint jobs are also used in the battle against spy photographers.
“Before a single one of these test vehicles is allowed to leave the prototype plant, a camouflage package is developed and must be approved by the design, engineering and test track safety departments,” said Al Wilkinson, Ford camouflage coordinator. “With all of the camo in place, even a good photograph should not give away the design details of the new car.”
