Just when we thought we'd seen it all, MINI comes up with something so original we don't know what to make of it. Spotted on the streets of Munich earlier, this car is clearly an electric version of the Coupe they launched last year.
A test fleet of MINI Cooper electric cars was built by BMW a few years ago and its use led to the creation of the i3. But this is a little different. A big wing similar to the JCW Endurace Race Car has been placed on the back, and the suspension setup is clearly redesigned for hardcore racing conditions.
This car is likely a successor to the 2010 MINI E Race, which lapped the Nurburgring in an all-electric time of 9 minutes 51.45 seconds at the hands of DTM driver Thomas Jager.
When the 2014 Nurburgring racing season begins, we're eager to check out this pocket electric rocket blitzing the track and setting a brand new record.
