Under the “One Ford” directive, the next generation Ford Mustang will arrive as a 2015 model for all the markets. It will be an interesting experiment to see if Ford finally decides to get rid of the live rear axle and the leaf suspension.
Rumor has it that that Ford will skip past the retro design book and make the next pony car look much like the Evos concept, which we showed you last September from the floor of the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Fans of the car won’t be pleased, but Ford will be happy if they can sell this coupe to the Europeans and Chinese effectively.
Ford will of course preview the revolutionary design as a concept car first, and a company insider told Inside Line that this is what it will look like. There are of course some Mustang-ish design traits left in, like the three-piece tail lights, the short deck lid and that small quarter window.
