We recently had the chance to test drive a 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Road & Track and we just couldn’t help but take some extra photos to be offered as full HD wallpapers for your devices. Admittedly, the R/T is not the top dog in the range but it still looks as cool as ever with those new headlight LEDs up front.

The trick with the 2015 Dodge Charger is to forget about its past. Ever since the Americans decided to use the ‘Charger’ name on a sedan, they managed to piss off a lot of enthusiasts. However, the 2015MY version is not the first of its kind and considering how far back the previous model was in terms of design, we’re appreciative of what we’re being presented with here.

The design was inspired largely by the 1999 Charger R/T Concept but had to be adapted to the current trends and rivals for the Dodge sedan. A much-needed update in 2011 gave the frumpy 2006-based Charger a stylish and somewhat retro theme with its blunt front end, scalloped door lines and the LED “racetrack” taillights, which is becoming a signature cue amongst modern Dodge products like the Dodge Dart and Durango.

Inside, things are as Spartan as they get, despite all the screens and tech you get. The dash has simple shapes and is made out of decent plastic that, however, might not age too well. New details include the ‘hectic mesh’ accents around the gauge cluster and center stack and a nice ‘Dodge Brothers Designed in Detroit’ emblem integrated into the small cubby on the center console.

The engine under the bonnet of the 2015 Charger R/T is a 5.7-liter V8 making 375 HP and 395 lb-ft (536 Nm) of torque that’s way behind the all-desired Hellcat SRT. Even so, it’s more than enough for any driver out there, unless you really want to take track days extremely serious or feel the need to have the higher horsepower count on the block.

Bottom line, the Hellcat SRT models did write history but the truth of the matter is, they might just be too much for the average Joe. Unless you plant to track your car on the regular, we suggest you spare yourself some money and go with the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T as it may make more sense than you’d expect.
