2015 Cadillac ATS Sedan Officially Unveiled

We're happy to report that the front fascia comprises of a new grille design dominated by two horizontal chrome bars, with the upper adorned with Caddy's wreathless badge design. Compared to the 2014 model year, the new Cadillac ATS sedan reunites the three-piece lower grille of yesteryear into a single big one traversed by a slim chrome ornament, while the beltline swoops harmoniously with the revised headlights and the hood gets a slightly raised center section for added drama.

Round the rear you'll see more or less the same car as before, the only significant change being a slight rearrangement of the LEDs incorporated in the tail light clusters. Two new exterior finishes have been added to the lineup, namely Crystal White Tricoat and Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic, but the bigger changes can be seen the moment you pull the door handles, which look like lightsabers from George Lucas' Star Wars saga.

Inside the 2015 Cadillac ATS sedan you get a driver-focused dash adorned with handcrafted upholstered interior combinations, as well as decorative stitching and authentic materials such as leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and wood. Stay away from the wood 'cause it's grandpa-like and the carbon fiber is too boy racerish for a Cadillac that's not wearing the -V indicative.

Siri Eyes Free, Text Message Alerts, a Teen Driver function, OnStar 4G LTE and a wireless smartphone charging feature called Cadillac DockSpot are also on the menu. The CUE infotainment system is also enhanced, there's a heads-up display, loads of buttons on the steering wheel for adjusting the cruise control, telephone and Bose stereo, while the instrument cluster has a small display under the speedometer.

So what's powering this sexy and luxurious four-door compact executive sedan? Well, there's nothing actually new under the hood, unfortunately. The facelifted ATS sedan carries over the same three-engine lineup as its predecessor, namely a 2.5-liter four-pot rated at 202 horsepower and 191 lb-ft (259 Nm) of torque. Step up to the turbocharged 2-liter four-cylinder mill and you get 272 horsepower and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm), while the range-topping 3.6-liter V6 that can be mated only to the HydraMatic 6L45 six-speed automatic with tap-shift control offers 321 ponies and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm).

Prices haven't been announced at the moment, but we presume that the least expensive 2015 Cadillac ATS sedan will set you back some $33,500 excluding destination. In the United States, Caddy's refreshed ATS sedan will hit dealer showrooms sometime this fall. If you want the 2015 model year ATS Coupe, keep in mind that Cadillac charges $38,990 for the most basic of models.
