Italian Honda off-road bikes dealer Red Moto had a great idea, trying to show to the world that such bikes can indeed look astonishing, even though they’re kind of made to look better when covered in dirt. The Red Moto Special Edition was built on a 2014 CRF250R machine, one of the elite quarter-liter bikes in the business, but the heap of add-ons and the price this bike retails for will take your breath away, for sure.
Since money is often the first issue when it comes to getting a new bike, here’s the Red Moto deal. The standard value of the CRF250R is €8,865 ($12,075), including the 22% Italian VAT. Not exactly a cheap machine, but we’re talking about the CRF R family, one of the elite 250cc competition bikes in the world. Well, adding €6,000 ($8,170) worth of aftermarket parts to the price would have resulted in a very funny price, so Red Moto is ready to offer you this machine for €9,990 ($13,610). Now, this starts to sound really interesting, isn’t it?

Believe it or not, you can get this fully-loaded machine from Red Moto and draw massive envy from your fellow riders. And the best part is that the add-ons are making the bike perform better while making it look better, too, so we’re really into “hitting two birds with one stone” territory.

Red Moto is also offering individual parts, but their list price will get you nowhere near the killer price for the whole kit. To prove this, it’s worth checking out the Red Moto aftermarket parts list and add the price tags of the dual Termignoni, titanium, full-line exhaust, carbon fiber fuel tank, Batfly brakes and fork, and Excel lightweight rims.

Add in the countless CMT carbon fiber protectors, Kite add-ons, Renthal bar and grips, and the amazing Vibram frame protectors, plus a bevy of other parts from Blackbird and Sunstar for a whopping total of 35 new components used for this machine.

Underneath these eye candy add-ons, the CRF250R rolls with a 249cc, 4-valve Unicam liquid-cooled engine which delivers 38 horsepower @11,000 rpm, and 26.4 Nm (19.4 lb-ft) at 8,500 rpm. The PGM-FI engine has a kick start and is mated to a 5-speed transmission actuated by a wet multi-disc clutch, and using a 48mm USD fork and single-disc brakes. As the stock version weighs under 104.6 kg (231 lbs), we wonder whether the 105.7 kg (233 lbs) Red Moto mentions is the final weight of the Special Edition.
