Audi knows the A8 will never be as sculptural as the new Mercedes A8, but it does have its own character and its own loyal following.
A facelift for he flagship saloon is scheduled to be revealed in an online event Wednesday, August 21st, at 9 AM CEST. One highlight of the new Audi A8 is the new new Audi Matrix LED headlight, which individually disconnects some of the LEDs to stop you from blinding other motorists but still keeps the rest on high beam for maximum visibility.

In addition, the 2014 A8 will come with sequentially illuminated turn signals, which we saw yesterday.

Audi has just released a few teaser design sketches for the A8 facelift to keep the hype up. They show that the lower front bumper has been redesigned with a squared off look, while the taillights have received a 3D effect based around a chrome strip added to the top of the license plate recess.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
