The compact entry-level luxury car segment is getting ever more competitive by the day, but there's still plenty of wiggle room for Acura to move and get the noticed with its Civic-based ILX.
Launched in April last year as a 2013 model year, this brand new concept for Acura is entering 2014 with its head held high and bunch of extra kit.

The ILX now starts at $26,900 and comes with standard 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, rearview camera and active noise cancelation. This extra equipment is no doubt needed, but it also made the ILX $1,000 more expensive than it used to be when it came out as a 2013 model year.

Honda's sales are back on track, and so is Acura, which likely explains why they didn't address the biggest criticism people had with this car. The base car still comes with a 2.0-liter four-banger which produces a measly 150 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque (190 Nm). If that's a problem for you, than going for the 201 hp 2.4-liter version of the car is you only choice. However, that only comes with Honda's six-speed manual.

The 2014 ILX is available starting today across the US.
