The 2013 European Junior Cup will kick off on April 14th at MotorLan Aragon, in Spain, and this season is expected to be the most interesting one so far. It's been 3 years since the European Junior Cup joined the World Superbike series and it looks like this move has meant a huge step forward for the young riders.
The European Junior Cup has proven to be a great breeding ground for top riders such as Matt Davies, now racing in the World Supersport series, Lukas Wimmer, who this season moved to the European Superstock 600, alongside other ex-EJC riders Jean Francois Demoulin, Brandon Kyee and Adrian Pasek.
The grid of the 2013 European Junior Cup grid contains no less than 36 entries from 18 countries, among which we should mention Indonesia, Australia, USA and New Zealand. The EJC will span across 8 rounds and will be powered by Honda, as they will be showcasing their new CBR500R machine.
The EJC riders are as young as 16 years, and we're also going to see a girl racing: Amelie Demoulin
, sister to Jean Francois Demoulin we mentioned earlier. So now it's a bit clearer how come most of the MotoGP stars are European, isn't it?
