2013 WSBK: Carlos Checa and Ducati Panigale in Pole Position at Phillip Island

Good news for Ducati in the early 2013 WSBK season, as Alstare team rider Carlos Checa rode his Panigale to the pole position for tomorrow's races at Phillip Island, Australia.
This is the 10th pole position in Checa's carrer but what's even nicer is that he and his Ducati did a new Best Lap, with 1m30s234. Eugene Laverty came next at a very short .195 distance and proved that the Aprilia works team has come up with an extremely competitive bike and will put up a good fight for the current season.

Third came Michel Fabrizio, riding an Aprilia as well, but under the colors of the Red Devils Roma team. He was the fastest in the qualifying, and now will get the chance to prove his speed staring off from a good position, too.

With less than 24 hours until the first 2013 WSBK race, speed freaks around the world are feeling the blood boil, especially in the northern hemisphere, where pretty much all the bikes are still inside garages.
