The 2013 Toyota RAV4 can be had in two diesel versions in Europe if you don’t fancy the gasoline powertrains - a 124 PS/310 Nm 2-liter D-4D two-wheel-drive and a 150 PS/340 Nm 2.2-liter four-wheel-drive version.
However, Toyota decided that a four-wheel-drive version for the 2-liter diesel unit will work good helped by the high amount of torque, so it recently made it available.
The 124 PS/310 Nm 2-liter engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission that sends the power to all four wheels, also being aided by the Integrated Dynamic Drive System, which allows front to rear torque distribution to vary from 100:0 to 50:50 when needed and automatically re-engage front-wheel-drive mode when driving in normal conditions.
