The Toyota Prius c, or Aqua if you live in Japan, is considered the most fuel efficient hybrid vehicle you can get at the moment, excluding plug-in ones of course.
Its 99 hp total hybrid drivetrain averages 53 mpg in the city, 46 mpg on the highway and 50 mpg combined, giving it a 428 miles range on a single tank of gasoline.
HybridCARS have tested the baby Prius recently and they recommend it if you are more interested by fuel consumption and fuel emissions more than over behind-the-wheel thrills or a luxury interior.
