Jorge Lorenzo wins the first round of the 2013 MotoGP championship, the race at the Losail circuit in Qatar.
Lorenzo was accompanied on the podium by Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez, with Dani Pedrosa 4th, followed by Cal Crutchlow. While Lorenzo had a great start and managed to increase the gap with each lap, the battle behind him was really fierce, and Marquez was really close to Rossi.

Good results from Ducati, as they secured places 7 and 8 (Dovizioso and Hayden), followed by two Pramac machines ridden by Andrea Iannone and Ben Spies.

Pedrosa was rather lucky to finish in the 4th place with all the grip problems he had during the entire wekend. Nobody got injured, even though we had no less than 6 bikes which did not finish.

As a short roundup for the Qatar round, we'd say that the actual qualifying system is really intense and in a way it's "sudden death", with no time to bed in and the like and it looks like it will make MotoGP more interesting.

We're happy to see Rossi riding hard once more and even happier to see Marquez so focused and not making stupid mistakes.
