The current Lexus LS was launched in 2006 and received a mid-life facelift in 2009. We were all wondering how the automaker can justify not launching a brand new car, but as the information starts to trickle down, the 2013 LS starts to make sense.
The facelift actually has 3000 new parts, and one of the most interesting features is the advanced illumination system. When the car detects you’re approaching, it welcomes you with an “elegant sequence of soft, warm lights.”
Once inside, the light show starts at the push of the starter button. The sequence created using the various instruments bathes you in a warm ambiance.
None of this technology is brand new, but the way it’s done shows that typical Japanese attention to the small picture.
