Braking is definitely good, when faced with an imminent threat, behind the wheel, but if it is not timed correctly, it can do more harm than good. In fact, this makes us think - timing a maneuver, in a dangerous situation, is much more important than braking, per se.
This Russian driver eloquently proves the point, as braking in the situation he or she was in, was definitely not the best idea, and its usefulness had been lost just moments prior to the impact. The driver simply brakes in front of the car with the dash-mounted camera, instead of either braking before, or flooring it to avoid the crash - both would have worked.
The compromise caused the crash, in this case, and while it wasn’t particularly sever, it undoubtedly ruined everybody’s day (and vehicle). So, when you are faced with a similar situation, don`t mindlessly step on the brakes, but try and keep a level head and make a rational decision - panicking is always bad, especially while at the wheel.
