The new K9 flagship from South Koran automaker Kia has been spotted testing completely undisguised in South Korea. The car will likely be launched there first in the coming month, followed by the Europe and the US most likely next year.
K9 is just a codename indicating this is the largest car in the model range, as it will likely be called the Kia Opirus once it goes into production. It’s based on the the Hyundai Genesis, with which it will share its engines. The base engine is likely to be the 333 hp 3.8-liter V6 from the Hyundai Azera, and the 5.0-liter GDi with 429 from the Genesis.
