About 52 of the 69 COPO Chevrolet Camaros built for the 2013 model year need to be inspected over a potential transmission issue, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced today.
The recall was issued by ATI Performance Production, the company that supplied the Powerglide automatic transmissions used in the aforementioned drag strip-prepped cars.

According to the NHTSA, the affected transmission may have a weak park pawl, which means that it “may come out of park and the vehicle may roll away, increasing the risk of a crash”.

ATI Performance Products will notify owners and dealers will inspect and replace the transmission and torque converter if necessary, at to no cost to the owners. For more info, 2013 COPO Camaro owners may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-888-327-4263.
