Oh how things can change in one car generation. The fastest Chevy Malibu in production guise is not some V8 monster with FWD, but the 2.0-liter Turbo model which will get to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds, thanks to its efficient 259 horses of power.
This was the base car chosen for the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept, a factory project that will bow at the 2012 SEMA Show.

Starting with the exterior, this gets a special Berlin Blue Tricoat paintjob, though the fun doesn’t stop there. The body kit used for the car is made up of a front splitter, rear diffuser and new skirts.

They’ve also added a new set of 20-inch wheels with very thin profile spokes and wrapped in Pirelli PZero 255/35ZR20 tires.

Performance include the HiPer Strut suspension borrowed from its brother, the Insignia, six-piston brakes with two-piece cross-drilled rotors.

The interior has also been reportedly customized by addin a pair of Recaro seats finished in Jet Black leather and Navy Blue suede with contrasting red stitching.
