The 2012 edition of the SEMA show is approaching fast and we were pretty shocked to find out that the list of companies that will miss the event includes West Coast Customs, the California-based aftermarket specialist that’s well-known for its TV show and extreme custom car projects.
Unlike many tuners who skip shows due to financial issues, West Coast Customs is telling us that it won’t be present at SEMA in order to focus on its development. To be more specific, WCC is set to film season number 3 of Inside West Coast Customs, which will be broadcasted on the Velocity network. In addition to that, WCC has recently received new funds and has to take care of the developments they’ll be used for.
“Not displaying the West Coast Customs brand at SEMA for 2012 was a very difficult decision,” Ryan Friedlinghaus, founder and CEO West Coast Customs said. “The vehicle-builds for season three have been extensive, and the new endeavors of WCC require our entire focus over the next few months. The automotive industry will see WCC become a tremendous powerhouse in 2013.”
WCC has stunned the audience at SEMA over the last 15 years and for 2012, its will only be there through Friedlinghaus, who will be giving autographs.
autoevolution will be attending the 2012 SEMA, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
