It’s been a long time since Audi realized they could make a true rival for the M3, a car that people who didn’t want to be seen in a BMW would buy. Now, a new, or revised if you want to be fair, version is coming and we’re pretty excited at the idea of an all-wheel drive car with the same 450 horsepower 4.2-liter that went into the RS5.
But the RS4 is also one of the most angry-looking cars Audi makes, and what makes it extra special are its deep chin and its chiseled body parts. After releasing a rendering of the upcoming Avant version of the RS4, JonSibal got a tip from “Hans”, who had shots of the actual bumpers for the production car.
The pose quite a dilema, as they bring three long scoops under the grille and a couple of brand new scoops at the very edged of the lower bumper. We’ve tried cross-checking these patterns against some of our spyshots and the results were interesting. The test mule we showed you a while back hides a lot of secrets, but the new scoops on the side might be there, hidden behind some panels that are camouflaged, but not in the same pattern as the rest of the bumper. So we think these photos might actually show some production parts.
