Toyota is in the middle of a major transformation, but since just about every model in their extensive range needed a makeover, money must have been tight. Thus, besides the new Yaris city car, the Big T has also brought over a facelifted version of one of their European best-sellers, the Avensis.
We can now show you the full face of the design, as the carmaker has revealed both the sedan and wagon versions. We’d mention that the changes were designed and engineered in Europe, with production scheduled to take place at the automaker's Burnaston plant in UK.

Cosmetically, the car now sports a new upper grille and the larger, more aggressive looking lower grille, plus the headlamps which now incorporate LEDs on the side. The 2012 model also brings with it new fog lamps and alloy wheels.

Inside the 2012 Avensis, there’s a new Touch and Go Plus touch-screen satellite navigation system to look at, and Toyota has promised better quality and different colors.

The engine range has seen the 2.0-liter D-4D turbodiesel becoming much greener, as it now emits 119 g/Km (meaning an improvement of 20 g/Km). In fact, all the units have become more frugal, but the company has not revealed by how much yet. All engines come with 6-speed manual transmissions, with a six-speed manual also available for the 2.2-liter diesel.
