Subaru XV Crossover Teased ahead of Frankfurt Unveiling

The Subaru Impreza is a vehicle that has earned a place in the automotive hall of fame, especially if we're talking about the WRX and the STI versions, and thus, anything related to it makes us pay attention. {Ad}Thus, an upcoming Subaru crossover called "XV", which could've had to prove itself before entering the spotlights gets a boost of image just because it is strongly related with the Impreza.

The Japanese carmaker brought the XV Concept to the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year and now the company is teasing the production version ahead of its Frankfurt debut.

So far, we only know a few specifications of the vehicle, such as the fact that it will be 4,450 mm long, 1,780 mm wide, and 1,570 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,635 mm.

Under the hood, we'll find a 2.0-liter boxer engine, which will be mated to a CVT gearbox (called Lineartronic in Subaru language).

It could be just an Impreza with a higher ride height and a "lazy" gearbox, but it could also be a smart development - fortunately, we don't have to wait to long to find out.

Before you go (to Frankfurt, of course), we have to remind you that Subaru's main asset at the event will be a technology concept that will preview the sportscar that is being developed together with Toyota.

Dubbed BRZ, this should offer a new perspective on a sportscar when it arrives on the market, but we are still waiting for the launch schedule.
