Ford tried to answer the question “what’s the fastest car you with a Focus ST badge”, so it brought the Focus ST-R, the $99,000 race car that has been purpose-built for the American Grand-AM ST class but can also be tailored to the World Challenge’s TC Class, Canadian Touring Car and Nurburgring 24 Hours.
Despite being a dedicated race car, this shares some stock body panels with the standard Focus ST. The 2.0-lite EcoBoost has been kept, but it’s been turned into a high-powered monster by the guys at Ford Racing.

Chassis upgrades include a sporty track suspension setup, variable ration steering system and performance brakes.

The interior is stripped out and filled with the FIA-regulation roll cage. A racing seat assures you the perfect racing position and places you in reach of a six-speed manual gearbox.

"Because the Focus ST-R is a production-based road race car, it features stock body panels and production parts where possible," said Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing. "People who buy one will get will get a fully prepared race car that will only need communications equipment and the customer's decals to go racing. We've already had significant interest in this vehicle from numerous established race teams."

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
