2012 Lancia Thema Arrives on European Market

Yesterday, Lancia introduced the mighty Thema sedan to the European Market, a car that is basically a cosmetically retouched Chrysler 300 that now sports some different colors inside and a Lancia grille up front.
Fiat Group has a bad habit of setting sales targets that are too ambitious, so take their estimated 10,000 to 15,000 goal for the Thema with a grain of salt. However, there’s no denying the fact that this is a very interesting proposition for those who who wanted the 300 but were forced to import it before.

A total of three engine choices are available, and these include the award-winning (in America) 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 286 hp, which can be combined with the new eight-speed automatic transmission for a respectable 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 240km/h (149mph).

The other offering is not the mighty HEMI V8, but Lancia’s 3.0-liter V6 that is available in two Euro5 stages of tune. The base form develops 190 hp, while the top one has 239 hp and is almost as fast as the Pentastar to 100 km/h (62 mph).

"This global flagship combines the classically American features of size, comfort and presence on the road with the "Made in Italy" craftsmanship, the cocooning silence of the large Lancias and the quality of materials and fabrics that elegantly "clothe" the most advanced technology serving comfort and safety,"
the automaker says.
