Even though most riders are on mopeds, India is still a huge market for motorcycles and there’s no shortage of buyers for Japanese or European imports. The latest scheduled to arrive is the 2012 650R, Kawasaki’s entry to the mid sportsbike segment.
The bike still comes with a 650cc parallel twin-cylinder, four-stroke engine rated at 72bhp and 66 Nm for the Indian market.
The 650R isn’t exactly the most powerful bike, not even in its class, but when it does arrive in India this month, you can expect a new chassis adapt for road users and sharply defined body with integrated turn indicators.
It also comes with a 3-position windscreen, a 20mm wider handlebar, thicker foam for the seats. The only things that’s missing is the ABS, which was introduced for the 2013 model year, but isn’t as important in India.
