Audi turned the 2008 A1 Sportback Concept into reality, and announced that the five-door supermini will arrive early next year. Now, their UK sales teams are announcing the premium A1 five-door will be available for order starting this month, with prices ranging from £13,980 to £21,270.
Compared to the A1 three-door, the Sportback is six millimetres taller and six millimetres wider, and inside offers slightly more head room and shoulder room as a result.
The A1 Sportback will be sold with a total of five TFSI and TDI engine choices in the UK - 1.2 TFSI petrol (86PS, 160Nm), 1.4 TFSI petrol (122PS, 200Nm), 1.4 TFSI twin-charge petrol (185PS, 250Nm), 1.6 TDI diesel (105PS, 250Nm). These come with a choice of manual or S-tronic double-clutch gearboxes.
