Volkswagen is about to officially release the 2011 Jetta model, but fortunately it seems that certain people just couldn’t wait, as the car’s pictures have leaked on the web, revealing both the exterior and the interior of the vehicle.

The images, which have been released by AutoExpress show a vehicle which has evolved from the status of a “booted” Golf. The Jetta now has an improved rear end design, with fluid lines and nicely integrated taillights.

The vehicle has put on the current Volkswagen family mask, with the healights, front grille and bumper showing this.

The interior of the vehicle wears a conservative suit and seems to follow the “function dictates form” trend, a common characteristic for the vehicles built by VW.

Based on the Golf MK VI platform, the 2011 Jetta will be 182.7 inches long, 57.1 inches tall and 70.1 inces wide. So the car has grown 3.5 inches in length, a characteristic which allows it to offer and additional rear leg room of 2.6 inches.

For the U.S. market, the saloon will be offered in six versions, including S, SE, SEL, TDI and GLI.

The new incarnation of the Jetta will probably show a decreased base price, compared to the model it repalces. The 2011 Jetta is expected to have a starting price playing in the $16,000 league, while the current generation of the car can be yours starting from around $18,000.

The 2011 Jetta will be produced at VW’s Puebla plant in Mexico and will go on sale in October.
