2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 UK Pricing and Availability Announced

The British division of Suzuki have made an announcement today destined to arouse the fans of the Japanese brand, namely that its all-new GSX-R600 is to arrive at UK dealers from February 5. The company has also revealed the price tag it has set for the middleweight gixxer, which will retail for GBP8,799.

Redesigned from the ground-up, the new GSX-R600 is claimed to boast significant advantages over its predecessor and rivals, with 9 kg (20 lbs) less compared to the 2010 model, now tipping the scales at 187,8 kilos (413 lbs).

The all-new sportbike also now offers the very latest race-track inspired technology, such as Showa Big Piston Forks, Brembo Monoblock brake callipers, a 15mm shorter wheelbase and a completely revised engine too.

The biggest visual changes over the previous generation are the four air intakes stacked to the sides of the slimmer headlamp. That headlamp now uses stacked high and low beams, putting the 600 and 750 in line with their big brother.

British customers have also recently been informed on the pricing adjustments made by Suzuki following the VAT increase to 20%. Five models have been affected by the price increase, namely the Gladius SFV650, the GSX1250FA, the GSX1250FA Sports Touring, the GSX-R1000 and the Hayabusa.

The price of the Gladius SFV650 is now GBP5,465, the GSX1250FA has increased to GBP7,865, the GSX-R1000 will now cost GBP10,825, while the e Hayabusa has increased to GBP10,935.

Both the GSX-R600 and its bigger sibling, the GSX-R750, have made their world public debut at the EICMA show in Milan last November.
