2011 Nolan Helmet Collection Introduced

Italian helmet company Nolan launched its enhanced 2011 collection, on the occasion of its return to the EICMA show this year. The new line includes three new products, namely N71, N63 and N33. Taken separately, Nolan N71 is a ‘crossover’ helmet, as the manufacturer likes to call it, and is designed as a full-face helmet, but incorporates a removable chin guard, therefore becoming a very practical open-face.

In the full-face configuration, the visor perfectly matches with the chin guard, ensuring a wide view field. In the open-face configuration, the “extra long” visor ensures maximum protection. The ventilation system comprises a direct front air intake, two upper air intakes and a rear hot and stale air extractor. Also, an air intake is also located on the chin guard (full-face configuration).

The internal sunscreen (VPS - Vision Protection System) features S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant) treatment. The inner padding is removable and washable. It is also fitted with a Microlock retention system and a silicone-sealed, Nolan Fog Resistant system (NFR) and is ready for the N-Com communication system. Metal finish components complete the look.

Secondly, the N63 is the new road full-face helmet, reportedly designed for city use. Highlights include a careful selection of graphics, chromatic color match of components and finishes, all combined to a limited weight of about 1,400 kg (3086 lbs), making it suitable also for women.

The ventilation system comprises an air intake located on the chin guard, a direct air intake on the front part and one on the upper part of the shell, as well as two rear extractors. The N63 is also fitted with a fully removable and washable inner comfort padding, Microlock retention system, standard set-up for the Nolan Fog Resistant system (NFR).

Finally, the N33 comes to please the most demanding riders. The new demi-jet helmet is suitable for city riding, but it is also suitable for out-of-town touring. Its ventilation system consists of one frontal air intake and two direct air intakes, as well of two slide-over side extractors, and a rear hot air extractor that covers the entire length of the helmet.

Also, the “extra long” visor is convex and provides excellent air protection. The VPS sunscreen is positioned between the shell and the visor itself, and features the S/R (Scratch Resistant) treatment. The N33 is fitted whit a removable and washable inner comfort padding. New metal cover plates complete the look.
