The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is a car designed to offer all wheel drive, real world performance. The Evo is a car that has a huge fan base all over the world, as it can make a supercar cry on a wet, twisty back road and is also a synonym of the word “drift”.
Mitsubishi also offers an MR version of the car (we are talking about the U.S. market), which is a special animal. Now, the automotive producer has decided to tighten the gap between the standard GSR model and the MR one by offering the Lancer Evolution X SE version.
Think at the X SE as a cocktail between the two, one that has been blended to offer you a little extra spice without knocking you off your feet. The version uses the six speed dual clutch TC-SST gearbox, which allows the driver to choose between three modes: Normal, Sport and Super-Sport. The transmission assists the car’s 291 hp and 300 lb-ft 2 liter turbocharged engine, sending the power and torque to the road via Mitsubishi’s S-AWC all wheel drive system.
The new incarnation of the Evo borrows its front fascia from the GSR, uses an MR rear diffuser and also offers a set of upgraded shock absorbers provided by Bilstein.
The interior of the vehicle has received a set of Recaro seats, which feature a textile finish, instead of the leather one used on the MR model.
Mitsubishi has not revealed the pricing for the X SE yet, but it is obvious that it will be placed between the GSR’s $30,000 and the MR’s $40,000.
