2011 Honda Accord Launched in India

Honda's Indian division today launched the all-new Accord in what can be easily considered one of the fastest growing markets in the whole world. The upgraded sedan will be available at India from around $43,500 (at current exchange rates), while the top of the range configuration will carry a price tag of $56,500.

Honda launched the new Accord in India three years ago and since then, sales continuously increased at an impressive pace. More than 25,000 units have been sold since its debut, Rush Lane writes, so the new model is expected to drive the Japanese manufacturer's sales forward in 2011 as well.

“Our belief in constantly upgrading our products based on customer feedback prompted this launch of an upgraded version of the 'Accord' with unique styling in combination with luxurious features," Takashi Nagai, President, Honda India, said in a statement according to the aforementioned source.

The new Accord was revealed for the first time in January this year and will be presented in Europe at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show next week. It comes with a new 2.2-liter i-DTEC engine that will release only 138 grams of CO2 per kilometer. It will go on sale in Europe in April, but pricing information for specific markets across the Old Continent will be revealed at a later date, probably close to the model's debut in Geneva.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
