2011 Ford Fiesta Debuts in Thailand

America manufacturer Ford is displaying the new Ford Fiesta sedan these days at the Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand. Ford displayed two models of the Thai-built car, a Highlight Silver four-door sedan and a Chilli Orange five-door hatchback. The new Fiesta will be available in two petrol engine configuration, namely a 1.4 and a 1.6 litres.

The car will also be the first Ford in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) available with an advanced new six-speed dual-clutch PowerShift automatic transmission.

Safety wise, the new Fiesta is equipped with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), which is standard on all PowerShift models. A driver-side airbag and ABS breaking system with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) are standard equipment on all models.

“The new Fiesta has been making waves wherever it’s sold around the world and it will certainly make its mark in this growing segment in Thailand and ASEAN. Customers will love it for its kinetic styling, driving dynamics, fuel efficiency and advanced technology,” said Saroj Kiatfuengfoo, senior vice president, Ford Thailand.

The 2011 Ford Fiesta is to go on sale in Thailand in the third quarter of 2010, and will be built locally at AutoAlliance Thailand's new passenger car production facility in Rayong.

“The exciting Fiesta will be exported throughout the entire ASEAN region, as well as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, further demonstrating Ford’s commitment to grow our business profitably in the region,”
added Saroj.

To celebrate both the Fiesta hatchback and sedan reveal, a 'Quick Change Show' will be performed at the Ford stand during the first weekend of the Bangkok Show, with professional artists putting on their magical routine for the first time ever in ASEAN.
