2011 BMW 535i & 550i Pricing Announced

German carmaker BMW had just announced US pricing for the 2011 BMW 535i and 550i Sedans. The 2011 BMW 5 Series made its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) and will arrive at nationwide dealerships on June 19, 2010.

According to the carmaker, base prices for the German sedans are lower than their 2010 predecessors – $1,650 in the case of the 535i and $900 lower for the 550i.

Getting straight to the point, the new 535i model will start at $50,475, while the 550i version will start at $60,575, including $875 destination & handling charges. Both cars benefit of BMW Ultimate Service, $0 maintenance for the first 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The 535i is fitted with a 300 hp 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged inline, while the 550i will be powered by a 400 hp 4.4-liter Twin Power turbo V8 engine. Both units will be mated to the new 8-speed automatic transmission or the new “Sport Automatic” 8-speed. There is also the option of a 6-speed manual transmission at no cost.

Both models feature EfficientDynamics technologies such as Brake Energy Regeneration, Electric Power Steering, a gearshift point indicator, active cooling air flaps, and on-demand operation of engine accessory drives.

The driver assistance systems include Parking Assistant, Top View cameras, and Frontal Collision Warning with application of the brakes when ordered with Active Cruise Control plus Stop & Go. Additionally there is also Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, a Head-Up Display, BMW Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection.
