2010 Geneva Auto Show: Nissan Juke

Just three weeks after its official unveiling, Nissan’s latest crossover gets ready for making its European public debut. Dubbed Juke, the third member of Nissan’s crossover family is to face visitors of the 2010 Geneva Auto Show starting March 4, 2010. Members of the media, however, are already getting acquainted with the Juke these days in Geneva.

The Juke draws inspiration from the Qazana concept car and can be considered the younger brother of the Qashqai, also on display in Geneva in an updated version.

In total, a nine color palette of exterior colors is planned, including two whites, a solid and a pearl, and three shades unique to Juke – Force Red, Haptic Blue and Machine Brown, though the total availability will depend on region.

The top of the range Juke will come with a new turbocharged direct injection petrol engine, developing 140kW (190PS) and 240 Nm. The 1.6 direct injection turbo engine is available with Nissan’s ALL-MODE 4x4-i system, updated to include torque-vectoring technology, a first in the small car segment.

The other engine options are Nissan’s 1.6-litre 16-valve unit, now with a unique dual-injection system, developing 86kW (117 PS) and 157Nm of torque, as well as the 1.5-litre dCI common rail engine producing 81kW (110PS) and 240 Nm of torque.

The Nissan Juke crossover will be sold in Europe starting autumn, but it will also be marketed in Japan and North America as well.
