2010 Geneva Auto Show: Mazda MX-5 20th Anniversary Edition

The European version of the MX-5 20th Anniversary Edition is making its world debut at this year’s Geneva Auto Show in Switzerland. Celebrating two decades since the roadster was launched, Mazda’s MX-5 20th Anniversary model will be marketed in Europe in a limited edition of just 2,000 units.

Each car is equipped with a special edition scuff plate with a serial number from 1 to 2,000. Customers will be able to choose between three special edition exterior colors, namely True Red, Crystal White Pearl and, specific for this edition, a new Aurora Blue.

The 1.8-litre soft top version of the roadster will be available in three colors (red, blue or white) with special chrome fascia, 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels with special edition finish, body-color interior decorative paneling, a special strut tower bar (for stiffer, sportier handling) and 20th Anniversary logos inside and out.

Inside, the car features decorative panels in either red, blue or white, while the seatback bar is also in body color. Furthermore, it also includes special edition floor mats embroidered with “20th Anniversary” logo and body-color border.

In terms of performance, the MX-5 20th Anniversary Edition is powered by a MZR 1.8 petrol engine that produces 93 kW/126 PS of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 167 Nm at 4,500 rpm while using just 7.0 litres of fuel (combined 167g CO2/km) per 100 km.
