2010 Ford Mustang Pricing Starts at $21,000

Ford today unveiled pricing for the new 2010 Ford Mustang, an upgraded model which features both exterior and interior upgrades plus revised engines capable of achieving a fuel economy rating of 26 mpg on the highway. The new Mustang is expected to go on sale this summer, with prices starting at $20,995 for the V6 coupe and $25,995 for the convertible. In addition, the V8 GT coupe has a base price of $27,995 while the GT convertible pricing starts at $32,995. The Shelby GT500 Coupe costs $46,325 while the GT500 Convertible can be purchased for $52,225.

“More than 9 million customers have made Mustang one of the world’s most beloved automotive and cultural icons,” said Ken Czubay, Ford's vice president of U.S. Sales and Marketing. “Making sure this modern legend lives up to their expectations has been our driving force to create the best Mustang ever. Not only is this the best Mustang ever, it’s also the best bang for the buck for our customers.”

Standard equipment on the 4.0-liter V6 version include 5-speed manual transmission, remote keyless entry, rear-window defroster, 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, manual air conditioning, power locks, dome lamp (coupe only), dual-stage front airbags, front-seat side airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control and SOS Post Crash Alert System.

Beside the obviously power increase, the GT adds engine cover, premium AM/FM stereo with single CD and clock, chrome accent four-gauge cluster and register vents.

On the other hand, the standard equipment on Shelby GT500 consists of dual stainless steel with 4-inch tips, aluminum hood with large single heat extractor, power mirrors, fog lamps, ambient lighting with MyColor (including 125 color gauge backlighting) plus leather sport buckets with racing stripes and short-throw with unique Q-ball shift knob.
