American manufacturer GM released today a more comprehensive set of photos showing the Brazilian designed and built Chevrolet Agile. The hatchback will become available later this year in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
As the initial rumors said, the Agile will be powered by a 1.4l Econo.Flex engine, which develops 102 hp at 6,000 rpm when running on alcohol and 97 hp when using only gasoline. The engine also benefits from GM's System Zero, a management system purpose built for flex fuel vehicles. So far, GM did not confirm the other engine said to be placed under Agile's hood, the 1.8l unit.
"The Agile goes beyond a traditional hatchback. Our task was to design a vehicle for a demanding client. Great design, interior space and versatility to attract customers from a different urban public to a surfer who loves the countryside," Carlos Barba, GM Design director said about the Agile when the car was first announced.
Production of the Agile will begin at the Rosario facility. "Our plant in Rosario is changing for the arrival of Agile. We installed new robots and we have trained our operators to ensure their safety and quality of vehicles, to begin to successfully produce this model in the country," Miguel Garcia, GM Manufacturing Argentina said.
The Agile will be rolled off the assembly lines in two trim levels for Brazil, LT and LTZ and in three versions for Argentina – LS, LT and LTZ. Pricing for the Agile and the differences between the trim levels have not yet been announced.
