2010 BMW Motorrad Days Celebrates Double Anniversary

The largest BMW gathering celebrates its tenth anniversary this year from July 2 to 4 at Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany). It is also the same year that GS models hold their 30th anniversary. Decision-makers, developers and riders from various GS decades will be at the 2010 BMW Motorrad Days to mark the double anniversary.

There will also be a special BMW Classic exhibition featuring milestones from three decades of GS, while visitors will be able to try out the current state of development for themselves.

Moreover, on the adjacent cross-style “x-track” there will be BMW G 450 X and Husqvarna models available for test rides. Four-wheel BMW vehicles will also be available for test driving at the “xDrive Circuit” - the BMW X5 and BMW X6.

Another highlight of the 2010 event will also be the Concept 6 study, first introduced at the 2009 EICMA Show in Milan, and which provides a look into the future with its transversely mounted but very narrow in-line 6-cylinder engine.

Some will not leave the BMW Motorrad Days empty handed, as there will be a draw for a F800GS on the Friday evening and for an R1200GS on the Saturday evening. However, the breathtaking stunts performed by motorcycle acrobat Chris Pfeiffer in the Freestyle Area should also attract visitors.

Another highlight will be the Team BMW Motorrad Motorsport, which lines up for the start of the WSBK with the racing version of the S1000RR. The team under Berthold Hauser, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, featuring factory riders Troy Corser and Ruben Xaus will provide an autograph session and photo opportunities for fans.
