2010 BMW X6 M Sport Package

German manufacturer BMW is planning a treat for those who haven't managed to buy the M version of the X6 yet or would like an M flavor without all that power: the M Sport Package for the big SUV, to come with the September built X6. If that's not enough, BMWblog reports that both of the big Xs will also get the new iDrive controller and the Drive logic including the hard drive and USB port.

The M Sport Package for the X6 will, most importantly, bring engine upgrades to complete the exterior ones. Exclusively intended for the gasoline powered X6, engine tweaks [provided by the M Package will give the X6 xDrive35i an additional 20 hp, bringing the total output to 326 hp. The X6 xDrive50i model on the other hand will get an even more powerful boost, some 40 hp, meaning a total of 449 hp.

As for appearance, the M Sport package for the X6 will come in two exterior colors, Alpine White and Titanium Silver. The package comprises of 20 inch black alloy wheels, BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line, black painted mirror caps, tailpipes with black color accents, Alcantara sport seats and Anthracite roof lining.

As for the iDrive controller, BMW says that now, thanks to the new Direct keys, the system is much easier to use. The navigation system to be used for the X5 and X6 comes with an 8.8 inch display,

For now, it is unknown how much BMW will charge for the M Sport Package to be fitted onto the X6. Additional details and the prices are expected to surface as the release date draws closer.
