Unveiled at the New York Auto Show, the 2010 Acura ZDX is again making the headlines, this time thanks to a lot of new photos showing the car in all its glory. The ZDX is expected to be released in the fall of 2009 and will be powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine that develops 300 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm.
Mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift and Grade Logic Control, the aforementioned engine achieves a fuel consumption rating of 16 mpg (14.7 l/100km) in the city and 22 mpg (10.7 l/100km) on the highway.
A number of advanced technologies are available as well, including Acura's Navigation System with Voice Recognition, AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic and Weather, Acura/ELS Surround premium audio system and Bluetooth connectivity. Lots of safety features, including a blind-spot information safety, will also be present.
"The ZDX is like nothing you have ever seen before from Acura," said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. "It combines the best attributes of a coupe, a sedan and a sport utility – all wrapped in a beautifully sculpted package – that will attract an entirely new luxury customer to the Acura brand."
"From the very first sketch of the ZDX, I wanted to create an emotional vehicle that challenged conventional thinking of what a sports coupe should be," added Michelle Christensen, ZDX exterior designer. "My goal was to create a strikingly beautiful exterior, and use that attraction to help draw you into the rich interior."
