As if the 1965 Ford Mustang isn’t already the kind of car that so many people would love to have in their collection, here’s a model that’s a lot more special, all thanks to Carroll Shelby himself.
At first glance, what you’re looking at here is a 1965 Mustang fastback painted in Prairie Bronze, and it’s pretty clear from the adjacent photo gallery everything is in mint condition.

The paint shines like new, and so do the wheels, the chromed parts, and the glass, with the car boasting a look that you typically find on a Mustang that just leaves the factory. This mint condition continues inside where everything is in tip-top shape, so in theory, this Ford Mustang awaits you to get it home with no other fixes required.

The engine that puts the wheels in motion is a 289ci (4.7-liter) V8 paired with a manual transmission, and of course, everything is working exactly as you’d expect them to work.

And now it’s time for good news and bad news.

What sets this Mustang apart from the rest of the crowd is the autograph of Carroll Shelby himself, and this is obviously what raises the price of the car substantially. Sold by Belmont Classic Cars, the Mustang is currently auctioned off on eBay, and the top bid at the time of writing is $25,300. However, we're not being provided with any specifics on this autograph, so make sure you check it out thoroughly if this is the main selling point for you.

And while Shelby’s signature is something many would love to have on their Mustang, here’s another tidbit that’s not everybody’s favorite cup of tea: the car comes with a non-matching numbers engine.

However, this doesn’t make the old-school coolness of the 1965 Mustang fade away, so it remains a beautiful example of an icon that lives on in mint condition today. If you don’t want to battle the other netizens as part of the auction, the garage is also selling the car at $45,000 on its official website, and some financing options are also available.
