A ’65 Mustang in mint condition is a looker, there’s no doubt about that, but finding one that hasn’t gone through a full restoration is quite a challenge these days.
On the other hand, in order for such a model to end up shining like a diamond, a Mustang first needs to be upgraded from the typical project car condition. As it turns out, the one we have here certainly qualifies for this task.

What you’re looking at is an original 1965 Mustang GT that has already received a bunch of fixes but which is now waiting for a new owner to complete the project. In other words, it’s a project car already on its way to the mint condition we were talking about earlier, only that it needs someone to show it the correct path.

The car comes fitted with a 289 V8 4-barrel engine paired with a 4-speed transmission, and according to the owner, it runs and drives, though it requires a series of fixes under the hood.

I think that it needs a clutch because it shudders when starting in 1st gear,” the owner says, so make sure you have this checked if you intend to purchase the car.

As anyone can easily figure out by simply visually inspecting the car using the photo gallery here, the Ford needs some fixes on the outside, too, though the good news is the exterior still comes with the original orange paint. The black interior looks pretty good, actually, though we’re not being told if everything is still there or something big is missing.

As said, there are things to be improved, while others have already been replaced. There’s a new fuel tank, part of the front suspension has been rebuilt, yet the rust should be at the top of the priority list for whoever buys the car.

At the end of the day, it’s one Mustang that deserves a chance, and by the looks of things, quite a lot of people think it’s restoration material. The car is listed on eBay by seller boneyardcustom, and the highest bid at the time of writing is $10.200.
