1964 was the last year for the third-generation Impala, and Chevrolet thus introduced subtle improvements here and there, including extra styling polishing to obtain a more rounded look.
At the same time, the GM brand re-introduced the 409-ci (6.7-liter) V8 engine in the lineup, once again as a big-block option.

The SS models retained the aluminum trim for the engine, remaining the model everybody looking for an upgraded experience was drooling after.

And the SS coupe you’re looking at here is testament of how awesome the 1964 model really was, coming with the same two-tone exterior look used by Chevrolet 56 years ago. The shiny blue finish is called Azure Aqua, and it nicely matches the polished Cragar SS wheels currently installed on the car.

The two-tone approach has been retained inside, where the Impala now features upgraded seats, door panels, dash, and carpeting, all sporting the vintage look used by Chevrolet during the ‘60s. Upgraded infotainment is offered too, and while the retro system fits the Impala SS like a glove, it actually comes with modern capabilities, such as an AUX input for an iPod.

And now, the icing on the cake. Power comes from a numbers-matching original 327 V8 engine paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Both work just perfectly, so overall, this Impala isn’t only a gem that would sit nicely in every collection out there, but also the kind of model which can easily become a daily driver.

The Impala SS comes with a title, build receipts, and maintenance history, and it features surprisingly low mileage, as the odometer indicates just a little over 23,500 miles (37,819 km).

All in all, this is one of the best upgraded Impala SS you can find these days, though it goes without saying all of the above can’t come cheap. And it really doesn’t, as Streetside Classics, the garage selling the car, expects to get $47,995 for it. An eBay auction is also underway, though the reserve hasn’t been met just yet.
